We were absolutely delighted that Anthony Phillips and his team hosted an Open Day at our Wrexham Depot.

The team were on hand to welcome our clients, Colas, Cheshire West, and key supply chain partners from Clearway, HRS and Highway Care.

At Core Highways we are committed to a safer future on our roads and hosting open innovation days are key to our business improvement strategy. We see real benefit in showcasing to our clients the work that our business improvement team, led by Abby Perry, does in engaging with suppliers from across the sector, collaborating with them and helping to introduce new products, ideas and solutions to the highways sector.

For example, incursions into work zones have become a steadily increasing concern—over 16,000 reported since 2017, including 232 in May 2024 alone. With that backdrop the theme of this event was on addressing this critical issue through technology and innovation.

From CCTV Towers, cloud recording body cameras, to intelligent incursion detecting technology, to hostile mitigation prevention - the day showed how working collaboratively we can provide a safer future for the whole highways sector.

At Core Highways we stand by the principle of “we are #strongertogether “ and these collaboration days allow us to practice this thought process and with that in mind, we hope to see you at the next one - whether you are a client or a supplier we are collaborating with.
