For Core Highways, the health and safety of our employees, the public and the people we work with is always our highest priority.

Safe to the core

We hold every necessary certification and go beyond their minimum requirements.

We are certified to ISO: 9001(2015); 14001(2015); 45001(2018), including National Highway Sector Schemes (NHSS) 12A, 12B, 12C and 12D for temporary traffic management.

Along with this, we are also certified to ISO: 9001(2015) and 45001(2018), including National Highways Sector Schemes (NHSS) 2A, 2B, 2C, 10B and 18A for fences, vehicle restraint systems and environmental barriers and site clearance.

We are also members of working groups and forums that further enhance and support best practice, health and safety, and excellent service in our industry. But more than this, we live and breathe health and safety in our approach and working methods. A great example is our Health and Safety Hub and our Six Safety Principles, which are ingrained in our culture.

In providing strict control of health and safety risks, we take a holistic approach to ensuring risk-free environments wherever we are working.

So we listen to our employees to recognise their real-life experience.

We then supply and maintain safe plant and equipment. We provide clear instruction and supervision for employees to ensure everyone is competent to do their tasks. And we work closely with our customers to create solutions that are safe to deliver on site.

With safety at our core, we’ve found working together as a team is the only way to ensure health and safety is maintained on every project, large and small, for our employees, partners, road users and the public.
