At Core Highways, we take pride in celebrating the hard work, dedication, and drive of our colleagues.

Recently, we were thrilled to learn some exciting news from two of our key projects recognising the incredible efforts of three of our outstanding employees.

Head of the Valleys Project – South Wales

The Head of the Valleys project is a five-year venture in South Wales where we are providing crucial traffic management services. The project is transforming an 11-mile (18km) stretch of the A465 into a dual carriageway between Dowlais and Hirwaun.

FVC Recognition Award – August 2024

The Future Valleys Construction (FVC) recognition award for August 2024 was presented to individuals who consistently go above and beyond in their roles. We are proud to announce that Richard Carpenter, one of our supervisors, received this prestigious award. Richard was recognised for his continuous support of the project and his unwavering commitment to keeping both workers and the public safe.

In recognition of his efforts, FVC Health & Safety manager praised Richard’s helpful nature, highlighting that he is always a pleasure to work with.

Simon White, Managing Director of Major Projects & National Clients said:

"I am incredibly proud that the client has recognised Richard’s outstanding contribution to the Head of the Valleys project. His efforts in keeping the workforce and the public safe are invaluable. Managing safety on such a large and complex project is no small task, and I am deeply grateful for Richard and the entire Core Highways team's hard work."

A40 Westway Project

The A40 Westway project, in collaboration with Costain and on behalf of Transport for London (TfL), is a vital scheme focused on repairing key infrastructure. The project commenced in July and will continue through May 2025.

We are delighted to share that our operatives, Lee Maunder and Leon Allen, have been highly praised for their dedication and hard work during the latest phase of the project.

Ramandeep Gill, Senior General Foreman at Costain, commented:

"Lee and Leon have been absolutely brilliant with the site team. Their willingness to help and their availability to assist wherever needed made a huge difference. We truly appreciate their contributions—please pass on our thanks to both of them."

At Core Highways, we are incredibly proud of our team members who continuously exceed expectations and earn recognition from our clients. Well done to Richard, Lee, and Leon! You embody the Core Highways spirit of excellence, and we look forward to celebrating even more successes in the future.

'Managing safety on such a large and complex project is no small task, and I am deeply grateful for Richard and the entire Core Highways team's hard work.'
